Charles Dobie of Canada is a descendant of John David Dobie and Mary Isabella Russell who came to Canada with their family in 1849. Their children settled in the Chatsworth, Owen Sound, Bruce Mines, Thessalon and Port Arthur areas of Ontario. Scottish roots are in the town of Dumfries and village of Tinwald.
